Basketball Game Preview: Elliott County Lions vs. East Carter Raiders

The Elliott County Lions will head out on the road to face off against the East Carter Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Elliott County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-25), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 58-50 win over Lewis County last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elliott County.

Meanwhile, East Carter can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past West Carter 46-24. That looming 46-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

East Carter's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Elliott County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Elliott County might still be hurting after the 61-39 loss they got from East Carter in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Elliott County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
