To be called the nation's best athlete from the Class of 2016 is a mouthful. Elbert County (Elberton, Ga.) 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior Mecole Hardman has earned such a distinction by 247Sports.

Hardman played quarterback for Elbert County but it's obvious that he can do many things on the football field with 4.42 speed in the 40-yard dash. He constantly runs away from very fast defensive backs.

He just announced he'll be taking his talents to Georgia.

Considered the 13th-best recruit overall by 247Sports, Hardman picked Georgia over Alabama and Florida State. Georgia is currently ranked fifth in the 2016 Recruiting Composite Team Rankings.
