Softball Recap: Pearl City Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pearl City's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Forreston Cardinals a 4-0 shutout. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Not much got past Mackenzie Lotz, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Forreston off the board. Lotz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kylie Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Snyder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

With the win, Pearl City broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-11. As for Forreston, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

Pearl City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
