Soccer Recap: Walpole Comes Up Short

Walpole was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Newton North Tigers. While losing is never fun, Walpole can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Newton North are ranked 85th).

Walpole's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Newton North, they pushed their record up to 5-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Walpole will challenge Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newton North, they will venture away from home to face off against Cambridge Rindge & Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
