Baseball Recap: Ranney Sets Scoring Season-High Against Red Bank Regional

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ranney). They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Red Bank Regional Bucs on Saturday. The win was nothing new for Ranney as they're now sitting on three straight.

Justin Kauffman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ranney is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Kauffman was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Andrew Parisi was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Mauro, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Ranney lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ranney's record is now 5-3. As for Red Bank Regional, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Ranney will challenge Middletown South at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red Bank Regional, they will take on Central Regional at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bucs 3.8, the Golden Eagles 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
