Soccer Game Preview: Humble vs. King

The Humble Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the King Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Humble fell victim to Atascocita and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Humble can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 475th, while Atascocita are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-0 to Summer Creek.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Humble, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-4.

Humble couldn't quite get it done against King in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
