Baseball Recap: Vicksburg Takes a Loss

Vicksburg fell victim to Neshoba Central and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-0 to the Rockets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Vicksburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allan Allen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Vicksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Neshoba Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vicksburg will head out to square off against Richland at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.28 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Neshoba Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Quitman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
