Baseball Game Preview: West Aurora Blackhawks vs. South Elgin Storm

For the second straight game, West Aurora will face off against South Elgin. The Blackhawks will be playing at home against the Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (West Aurora has won six straight at home, while South Elgin won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

On Monday, West Aurora narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past South Elgin 5-4.

Henry Hinkle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Oscar Alexander Jr., who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

West Aurora's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for South Elgin, they moved to 10-9 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Aurora has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Elgin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
