Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran West Longhorns vs. Richmond Heights Spartans

Lutheran West is 0-3 against Richmond Heights since December of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lutheran West Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Richmond Heights Spartans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Lutheran West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.

Last Saturday, Lutheran West slipped by Harvest Prep 69-68. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Warriors are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Richmond Heights came up short against Archbishop Stepinac on Sunday and fell 64-54.

Richmond Heights has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Lutheran West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Lutheran West took a serious blow against Richmond Heights in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, falling 84-37. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lutheran West was down 49-2.
