Softball Game Preview: Pawnee Indians vs. Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers

The Pawnee Indians will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield/Northwestern took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pawnee, who comes in off a win.

Pawnee is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Gillespie. Pawnee came out on top in a nail-biter against Gillespie on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-7.

Meanwhile, Greenfield/Northwestern came up short against Litchfield on Thursday, falling 15-5.

Kalynn Weller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Even though they lost, Greenfield/Northwestern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Everything went Pawnee's way against Greenfield/Northwestern in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Pawnee made off with a 10-0 victory. Does Pawnee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greenfield/Northwestern turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
