Basketball Recap: Easton Grable's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitko over North Miami

Whitko was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Miami Warriors. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Grable, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points. Grable continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chandler Cox, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Whitko smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Whitko's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for North Miami, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Whitko didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-44 loss against Northwestern on the 14th. As for North Miami, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-63 defeat against Southwood on the 8th.
