Softball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton dropped down to 18-23 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 14-1 to the Curry Yellowjackets. The Aggies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

As for Curry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 28-14-1. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Curry's part, Skiely Perry looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Perry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shileigh Williams was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Madie Gross, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Hamilton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Fayette County on the 4th. As for Curry, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-1 win against Haleyville on the 4th.
