Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zareia Colome and Tiyara Gonzalez Lead Shea to Victory

Shea posted their biggest victory since February 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the South Kingstown Rebels with a sharp 52-26 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Leading Shea to victory were Tiyara Gonzalez and Zareia Colome. Gonzalez almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists, while Colome went 7 for 8 on her way to 19 points. Colome has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Davina Gomes was another key player, putting up six points.

Shea smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Shea now has a winning record of 5-4. As for South Kingstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

When Shea and South Kingstown next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Shea will try to stop Portsmouth's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, South Kingstown will try to stop Narragansett's six-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
