Football Game Preview: Superior Panthers vs. Ray Bearcats + How To Watch

Superior is 7-2 against Ray since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will face off against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Superior is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: San Manuel, who was ranked 14th at the time (Superior was ranked seventh). The Panthers put the hurt on the Miners with a sharp 40-18 victory on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Antonio Lopez produced another solid effort throwing for 329 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also punching in one rushing score. He has become a key player for Superior: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Andrew Blair helped Lopez out on the ground, rushing for 101 yards and one TD on only 14 carries.

Meanwhile, Ray entered their tilt with Duncan on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Wildkats 40-14. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won four games by 24 points or more so far this season.

Ray's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Superior, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything went Superior's way against Ray in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Superior made off with a 60-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
