Providence was sadly handed a defeat on Tuesday, but Gavin Jackson did his best to prevent it. Despite the loss, Jackson was still locked in as he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Jackson and Providence are taking a road trip to challenge New Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sadly, Jackson's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Pioneers' five-game streak of wins at home.
