After a successful three-year run at Apple Valley High School in Minnesota, Top 10 Class of 2017 basketball prospect Gary Trent Jr. will head to Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) for his senior year.

The 6-foot-6, 205-pound shooting guard took to Twitter on Friday to explain his decision.
As a junior at Apple Valley, Trent averaged 25.9 points per game while leading the Eagles to Minnesota's Class AAAA semifinals. He earned fifth team MaxPreps All-American and first team MaxPreps Junior All-American honors following the season.

Apple Valley went 60-4 during Trent's sophomore and junior campaigns, winning a state title in 2014-15.

Trent is also a two-time gold medalist with USA Basketball, helping the U17 team take top honors at the FIBA World Championships earlier this month.

Findlay Prep looks well-equipped for another big season in 2016-17. In addition to Trent, the Pilots have added transfers Reggie Chaney and Chris Giles of Texas and point guard Justin Roberts of Indiana.

247Sports has Trent pegged as the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2017 class and No. 2 shooting guard. Duke is considered a heavy favorite in his recruitment.
