Football Game Preview: Fowler Redcats vs. Liberty Hawks

After each having a week off, the Fowler Redcats and the Liberty Hawks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Fowler put up the most points they have all season last Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 40-6 victory over Parlier. The win continues a trend for the Redcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Fowler found their leader in sophomore Joaquin Galindo, who threw for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 72 yards and one score. The Redcats' leading receiver Matthew Lopez was Galindo's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and one TD.

Fowler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Xavier Vasquez and Derek Luna. Luna got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Liberty strolled past Caruthers with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 40-21.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Fowler was able to grind out a solid victory over Liberty in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 27-17. Do the Redcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
