Volleyball Recap: Thomas MacLaren School Takes a Loss

If Thomas MacLaren School was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fountain Valley on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlanders fell 2-0 to the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions on Saturday. The shutout was out of character for the Highlanders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Abigail Hassell paced Thomas MacLaren School's offense, picking up two kills. Hassell got some help from Jane Ambuul and her three assists. Finally, Sara Christensen kept Thomas MacLaren School's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Thomas MacLaren School moved to 11-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Banning Lewis Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6.

Coincidentally, Thomas MacLaren School and Banning Lewis Academy will both be playing Eagle Ridge Academy the next time they take the court. The Stallions will head out to face the Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Highlanders will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
