Baseball Game Preview: Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos vs. Fisher Bunnies

The Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos will venture away from home to challenge the Fisher Bunnies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fisher took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cerro Gordo/Bement, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Cerro Gordo/Bement turned things around against Unity Christian on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted since May 6, 2024.

Cerro Gordo/Bement saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Freese, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fisher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against Fieldcrest, falling 13-2.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Fisher, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Cerro Gordo/Bement might still be hurting after the 18-8 loss they got from Fisher when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
