The Brookfield Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Joseph Cadets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Brookfield sitting on five straight victories and St. Joseph on seven.

Brookfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 24-17 win over Guilford.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Tyler Buttendorf and Aiden Ruotolo. Buttendorf had a solid game and gained 88 total yards. Meanwhile, Ruotolo was balling out in the loss, rushing for 103 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 64 receiving yards.

Brookfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut John Lopes.

Meanwhile, while St. Joseph put up plenty of points on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Waterbury Career Academy. The Cadets simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Spartans 37-0. Considering the Cadets have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Joseph's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Aurelio Gracia, Triston Barnes, and Ryan Cowser, who each picked up one sack apiece. Gracia got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Brookfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for St. Joseph, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-2.

Brookfield and St. Joseph were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but Brookfield came up empty-handed after a 21-20 defeat. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
