Softball Recap: Valders Extends Winning Streak to Three

Valders won against Kiel on Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Vikings walked away with a 5-1 win over the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Megan Hochkammer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Valders' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Dallas, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Valders' record is now 9-5. As for Whitefish Bay, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Valders will square off against Sheboygan Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Whitefish Bay, they will challenge Port Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
