Football Recap: Caddo Bruins vs. Thackerville Wildcats
Caddo had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Thackerville Wildcats 52-6 on the road. That's more bragging rights for the Bruins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Cale Wigington had a dynamite game for Caddo, rushing for 231 yards and six touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 14 yards and a touchdown. Wigington's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Boen Proctor was another key player, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Caddo wouldn't let Thackerville keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Caddo can thank Proctor and Jake Mckay for forcing both of them. That's the most total yards Mckay has posted since back in September of 2023.
Caddo will square off against Depew at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thackerville, they will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Paoli at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th.
