Football Recap: Wapakoneta Takes Down Shawnee in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Wapakoneta had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 41-16 margin over the Shawnee Indians on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won nine contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Wapakoneta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Moyer, who threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and a pair of scores. Moyer is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Wapakoneta's leading receiver Kaden Page was Moyer's top target yet again, picking up 134 receiving yards and three TDs.

Despite the loss, Shawnee still got an impressive performance from Jj Spyker, who rushed for 63 yards and one score, and also threw for 121 yards and one touchdown.

The victory keeps Wapakoneta at an undefeated 11-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.6 points on average this season. As for Shawnee, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Coming up, Wapakoneta will face off against Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Irish's defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Redskins' offense will have their work cut out for them. Shawnee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
