Soccer Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the Piedmont Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monroe of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Piedmont, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-2.

Monroe wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 defeat against West Stanly on the 18th. As for Piedmont, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Union Academy on the 17th.
