Newark Catholic and Utica are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Green Wave will be playing in front of their home fans against the Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Newark Catholic came up short against Johnstown-Monroe and fell 6-1.

Newark Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Kurtz Merricks (2027), who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Utica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakewood.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Newark Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
