Basketball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Carroll was the 61-55 winner over Wossman when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the Carroll Bulldogs and the Wossman Wildcats didn't end well, with the Carroll Bulldogs falling 68-51. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Wildcats are ranked seventh).

This is the second loss in a row for Carroll and nudges their season record down to 23-18. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Wossman, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Carroll is taking a road trip to challenge Bastrop at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bastrop's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 games. As for Wossman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Peabody at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
