Basketball Recap: Rural Retreat Comes Up Short

Rural Retreat lost against Eastern Montgomery back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rural Retreat Indians took a hard 65-46 fall against the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastern Montgomery got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cyrus Underwood out in front who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points. Grayson Caldwell was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Rural Retreat's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Eastern Montgomery, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

When Rural Retreat and Eastern Montgomery next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Rural Retreat will face off against Patrick Henry and their six-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Eastern Montgomery will try to stop Narrows' four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
