Soccer Game Preview: Spring vs. Nimitz

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Spring take on Nimitz at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Nimitz will have to contend with a Spring team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since February 7. Spring fell just short of Dekaney by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Wildcats are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Nimitz's offense. They came up short against Benjamin Davis on Friday, falling 3-0. The Cougars have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Nimitz, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Spring took their victory against Nimitz in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 3-0. Will Spring repeat their success, or does Nimitz have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
