Baseball Game Preview: Florence-Carlton Falcons vs. Polson Pirates

The Florence-Carlton Falcons will head out to square off against the Polson Pirates at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. Polson took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Florence-Carlton, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Florence-Carlton needed a bit of extra time to put away Hamilton. They won by a run and slipped past the Broncs 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Brodie Hinsdale made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hinsdale was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hinsdale wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Bates, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Polson came up short against Whitefish on Tuesday, falling 12-1.

The win got Florence-Carlton back to even at 2-2. As for Polson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Florence-Carlton came out on top in a nail-biter against Polson when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
