Baseball Recap: Upland Find Success

Upland hadn't done well against Damien recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Highlanders came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 9-6. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 9-7 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Carson Kinnick was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Upland: the team is 5-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Armendarez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Upland and bumps their season record up to 11-7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Damien, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10-1.

Upland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
