Basketball Recap: Mason City's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mason City's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Algona Bulldogs out 65-62. The win was some much needed relief for the Mohawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Mason City's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Algona, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mason City will venture away from home to square off against Waterloo East at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Mason City is facing Waterloo East at the right time seeing as Waterloo East is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Algona, they will head out to challenge Clarion-Goldfield at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
