Softball Recap: Eastern York Victorious

Eastern York won the last time they faced Spring Grove and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Knights came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 8-5.

Lauren Stiffler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Morton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since April 1st. Another player making a difference was Jayden Atkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Eastern York now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Spring Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
