Softball Game Preview: Lawrence Cardinals vs. Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs

Lawrence and Hopewell Valley Central are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Cardinals will welcome the Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Lawrence is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, Lawrence didn't have quite enough to beat Metuchen and fell 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Hopewell Valley Central lost 13-5 to Hillsborough on Thursday.

Hopewell Valley Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Lawrence, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Everything went Lawrence's way against Hopewell Valley Central when the teams last played back in April, as Lawrence made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
