Softball Recap: Chapin Huskies vs. Canutillo Eagles
Chapin stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over the Canutillo Eagles. Winning may never get old, but Chapin sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Fatima Hernandez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Enriquez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
On Canutillo's side, Alissa Pinon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Chapin's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Canutillo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
Chapin will square off against El Paso at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Paso knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Chapin likes a good challenge. As for Canutillo, they will head out on the road to challenge Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canutillo is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on a 23-game losing streak.
