Baseball Recap: Front Range Christian Takes a Loss

Front Range Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 10-10 to make it four. They fell just short of the SkyView Academy Hawks by a score of 7-6. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Haedan Morton put in work no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Morton wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Deza, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jake Dreiling was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

As for SkyView Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games.

On SkyView Academy's side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Dove, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logen Meyers, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Front Range Christian will head out to face off against Kent Denver at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons are facing the Sun Devils at the right time seeing as the Sun Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for SkyView Academy, they will welcome Estes Park at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
