Basketball Recap: Southwest Louisiana Homeschool Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool hadn't done well against Christian Home Educators Fellowship recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool secured a 66-61 W over the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots. This was payback for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, who suffered a 69-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Thomas, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Moore, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points along with five boards and four steals.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Christian Home Educators Fellowship had strong showings from Jaxx Almand, who posted 20 points and three blocks, and Ian Davis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Almand a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Babin, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool and Christian Home Educators Fellowship will both be playing Faith Training Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Christian Home Educators Fellowship will head out to face Faith Training Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th.
