Baseball Recap: Williamsport Gets the Win

Williamsport won the last time they faced Mifflinburg and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Millionaires came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Millionaires.

Cole Deitrick made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Christian Franzen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Williamsport: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gio White, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Williamsport's record now sits at 7-4. As for Mifflinburg, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsport will welcome Shamokin Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mifflinburg, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Southern Columbia Area at 4:30 p.m.
