Baseball Game Preview: Iola Mustangs vs. Emporia Spartans

The Iola Mustangs will take on the Emporia Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Iola's victory against Parsons wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Vikings a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Emporia posted their closest victory since April 11th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over West.

Emporia now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Iola, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
