Baseball Recap: Newberg Comes Up Short

If Newberg was feeling good fresh off their 12-6 takedown of McNary on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Forest Grove Vikings by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Newberg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Newberg's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Forest Grove, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-10.

While Newberg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
