Baseball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Comes Up Short

Emmanuel Christian extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They came up short against the Bowsher BlueRacers, falling 15-4. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Brandon Woodward was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Emmanuel Christian: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Angel Cintron also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Bowsher, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Considering they have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Bowsher's side, Cody Gray spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits. Gray has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bowsher got a massive performance out of Roy McCrandall, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Nate Reynolds was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.

Looking ahead, Emmanuel Christian will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Ottawa Hills at 1:00 p.m. As for Bowsher, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Northwood on the 10th.
