Baseball Preview: Easley Green Wave vs. Laurens Raiders        
        
		
            
 The Easley Green Wave will play host again  on Wednesday to welcome the Laurens Raiders, where first pitch is scheduled  at 6:30  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Last Saturday,  it was close, but  Easley sidestepped Riverside for  a  7-5 win. That's two games straight that Easley has won by  exactly two  runs.
  Kaleb Owens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits. Owens has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Owens was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Aaron Tolbert was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Ayden Beeco, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Laurens had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Greenwood  a   1-0 shutout  two weeks ago. Winning may never get old, but Laurens sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
 Easley is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record  this season. As for Laurens, they pushed their record up to 21-6 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home.
 Easley might still be hurting after the  7-1 defeat they got from Laurens  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. Can Easley avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
