Baseball Recap: Bethel Christian Wins Going Away Against Packinghouse Christian Academy

Bethel Christian won the last time they faced Packinghouse Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kings were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bears. The result was nothing new for the Kings, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Backstrom made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Backstrom was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Bethel Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Bethel Christian got a big performance out of Jonah Thompson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The Kings are 4-2 when Thompson posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Matthew Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Bethel Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Packinghouse Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
