After a string of six wins, Fort Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain Ridge Miners. The Sentinels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Miners earlier this season, when they won 66-60.

Fort Hill's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Fort Hill will be playing at home against Allegany on Friday. As for Mountain Ridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Berlin Brothersvalley likes a good challenge.
