Baseball Recap: Shadyside Gets the Win

Shadyside won the last time they faced Bridgeport and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers walked away with a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs.

Aiden Clegg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on one hit and racked up 17 Ks.

At the plate, Damian Russell was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jacob Allen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Shadyside now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bridgeport, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shadyside will host Shenandoah at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Zeps at the right time seeing as the Zeps are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bridgeport, they will welcome Frontier at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
