Football Recap: Hooker Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Hooker finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They were dealt a 35-8 loss at the hands of the Fairview Yellowjackets. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

When it comes to explaining why Hooker lost, don't look at Shase Redmond. Despite the final result, he picked up 92 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 65 yards. Keilan Robinson was another key player, having thrown for 276 yards and onetouchdown.

Hooker's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Fairview, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hooker will host Merritt at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Fairview, they will square off against Hinton at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Comets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
