Basketball Game Preview: Ashwaubenon Jaguars vs. De Pere Redbirds

The Ashwaubenon Jaguars will head out to square off against the De Pere Redbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashwaubenon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully De Pere likes a good challenge.

Back in December of 2024, everything went Ashwaubenon's way against New London as Ashwaubenon made off with an 81-56 win. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, De Pere waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over the Ships. Given the Redbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Ships are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

De Pere's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Ashwaubenon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Things could have been worse for Ashwaubenon, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-56 loss to De Pere when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Ashwaubenon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
