Basketball Recap: Jayden Daniels' Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Brunswick over West Brunswick

South Brunswick came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the West Brunswick Trojans, falling 64-42. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

South Brunswick's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Daniels, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Daniels is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Edward Young, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 12 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Brunswick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew McKenney, who went 7-for-10 en route to 18 points. Isaac Clarida was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

South Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for West Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

South Brunswick didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-45 win against Southeastern HomeSchool on the 1st. As for West Brunswick, they will host Whiteville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
