Volleyball Recap: KIPP San Jose Collegiate Comes Up Short

After flying high against Summit Tahoma on Tuesday, KIPP San Jose Collegiate came back down to earth. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit Lions by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, KIPP San Jose Collegiate sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-18, 16-25, 15-10.

Khang Banh paced KIPP San Jose Collegiate's offense, picking up 15 kills. Banh got some help from Luis Pantoja and his 32 assists. Pantoja was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
