Basketball Recap: Aberdeen Tigers vs. West Side Pirates
The Aberdeen Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Side and snuck past 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Griffin Knittel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Shackelford, who scored 15 points.
Aberdeen's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for West Side, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Aberdeen will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Bear Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for West Side, they will head out on the road to challenge the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Malad is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
