Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Augustine, Patrick Henry was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Cathedral Catholic Dons. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Alex Mestman was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Preston Conklin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Patrick Henry hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cathedral Catholic struck out six times.

Patrick Henry's record is now 13-7-2. As for Cathedral Catholic, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Patrick Henry will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
